My teenage girl used to get annoyed when having some issues with her face. She screamed the first time a pimple popped out from her face. Recently, she suffered from the outbreak of blackheads and would use a concealer to hide them. You know how teens are these days. I can’t blame her, because I had acne problems too, and I felt like panicking as well. She probably got that bit from me, though.
As suggested by peers, she thought of going to a dermatologist. It helped at first, but it didn’t stop blackheads from coming back. Then I recommended her to look for some natural remedies that can prevent and clear blackheads. She did and it was a problem solved.
I noticed some have unnoticeable blackheads, while others have more visible ones. I wondered if those people are doing something to get rid of them. So, I was encouraged to research about natural treatments against those tiny irritants, and now I’m sharing this information.
First, let me introduce you what blackheads and whiteheads are, and how they develop.
• These tiny dots form when there’s clogging at the openings of the skin’s hair follicles. The holes are usually clogged with dead skin, oils, or other pollutants.
• Doctors normally call blackheads and whiteheads together as comedones. They are called blackheads when the color is darker, and this happens when hair follicles are trapped down in the skin. They become whiteheads because the white part is raised up to your skin, and those the bumps that form.
• Blackheads and whiteheads normally occur in the nose, but can also develop in the forehead.
Here are some ways on how you can combat blackheads or whiteheads.
#1 – Aloe Vera
This natural ingredient is a known solution to help prevent hair loss. It also works to clear blackheads and whiteheads. There are properties that reduce swelling, while speed up the cure. Simply apply an aloe vera juice onto the affected area and let it dry on your skin. It’s best to do this at night before you sleep so the solution remains in the skin overnight.
#2 – Oatmeal
Oatmeal is also a powerful natural remedy against blackheads and whiteheads. You can pour honey or oil with it and apply onto your nose. Let it rest on the skin for 15 minutes before you rinse with warm water.
#3 – Almonds
Almonds work the same as oatmeal in treating whiteheads and blackheads. You crush almonds into pieces until they become powder. Mix it with rose water and then apply onto the affected skin area. Rinse after 15 minutes.
#4 – Toothpaste
This common home item contains anti-bacterial properties. This should not be surprising at all. It makes it a good solution to remove bacteria that cause or worsen blackheads and whiteheads. Within seconds, you’ll feel the burning effect, but that’s the sign that it’s working.
#5 – Baking Soda
Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with water. Apply the solution onto your nose and other areas where there are blackheads. Rinse it with warm water after 15 minutes.
#6 – Coriander Leaves with Turmeric Powder
This has been the formula my daughter used in treating her blackheads. She mashed some coriander leaves, added a few pinches of turmeric powder, and mix with water. It did work, of course, and you can definitely rely on this remedy.
#7 – Honey
Honey also has its own magic trick to treat blackheads and whiteheads. Rub onto your nose and leave it for 15 minutes before you rinse it.
#8 – Lemon
Lemon is one of the best fruits because they have a massive amount of antibacterial properties. So squeeze some juice and apply it onto the affected areas. It can be stingy but that’s alright as the dark spots can be cleared soon.
#9 – Steam
Can you believe that steam from boiling water or even dish is able to treat blackheads and whiteheads? Yes, this isn’t a joke. It would be somehow funny to just place your head down to a pot of boiling or hot water, or even your cup of coffee, but it can really benefit you if you hate blackheads, and very much interested to get rid of this problem. You may also rub on hot water on your nose, but only if you can handle it.
You have a long list of choices of what you can use to eradicate blackheads and whiteheads. Whichever you prefer to use, all these work to help solve this issue!
You can, however, incorporate some home remedies for blackheads and whiteheads into your daily beauty regimen and in a few weeks, you will experience a drastic reduction or even total elimination of the problem.
